I guess, in the spirit of documenting all things Riyu, I should also say that yesterday was the first time Riyu discovered that he could pull himself up and stick his hand in the toilet and play with the toilet water.
SO THAT’S FUN.
But, to continue right along with some Ishu documentation, yesterday was Ishu’s first bee sting.
We were playing at the Navy Pier fountain and he was wearing his Crocs and a bee snuck in there somehow and stung the bottom of his foot.
When I think back to it happening, the camera roll in my brain is like a slow-motion of me seeing the bee fly out of Ishu’s shoe, scooping him up, Nathaly grabbing the stroller to take charge of Riyu, me somehow spotting Jenn and Abby right as they arrived. Running up to them. Jenn taking over. Pulling out the stinger. A random grandma coming up to us with an antiseptic wipe and a Band-Aid. Jenn applying the hydrocortisone cream and somehow pulling out a lollipop like some sort of magician.
The DIVINE TIMING OF IT ALL.
And the incredible kindness of humans. And calm and steady friends in a crisis situation.
I mean, who knew Ishu’s bee stinging experience would be such an emotional moment for me?
Grateful, grateful, grateful.
That is all.
I’ll be back Monday with weekend recap.
GOOD NIGHT!
