We are switching between snowy days and sunshine-filled days so often around here, I’m getting whiplash.
I mean, not really.
I’ve just always wanted to use that term. HA. INSERT CRYING LAUGHING EMOJI.
Yesterday, I picked Ishu up from school and was planning to head straight home. But the sunshine and warmth was too good to turn down. So we detoured to the park for a bit.
And then, when the sunshine dipped below the buildings – leaving the park in mostly shade – we crossed the street to head to Molly’s Cupcakes.
I was just going to pick up a mini cupcake and have him sit in the stroller to eat it while heading home.
But then they had BOOKS.
So many books.
So we stayed to read a few of those.
And then when I said, “Alright, time to head home,” and then walked to the shelf to put the books back, I noticed they had board games.
So, of course, we pulled those out – one at a time – to play them.
Memory. And then Sorry. And then some word anagram game where Ishu read me some CVC words?! I mean, his teacher told me he was starting to do that. But to see it for real with my own eyes blew my dang mind.
He’s growing SO FAST.
Cannot believe he’s going to be three in just two days.
Where is the time going and where is the pause button?
Anyway, we eventually made our way home. But it was such a wonderful afternoon with that impromptu mama-baby date.
(It’s also why this kid is still sleeping right now. Ha. So much activity for one afternoon after two days of staying cooped up inside).
OK! Time for breakfast. Happy hump day.
