Every Sunday or Monday, I wrap up the weekend with a “Highlights from this Weekend” piece where I talk about the hikes I did, the games I played, the wine I drank.
But, on this particular Sunday, I’ve chosen to postpone that post [tongue twister?!]. Because today is quite the special day. Today is my BhavDi’s birthday.
So, instead, I’ll do a “Highlights from This Past Year: Bhav Edition.”
That time she became a mother:
In the past year, Bhav assumed a role that she so naturally played her entire life. She became a mom. (She already was a mama to every one of her baby siblings, but this time, she’s called m-a-m-a and her baby siblings aren’t rolling their eyes at her). Motherhood fits her. It’s what she was born to do.
That time she lived a zillion miles away:
Yes. Texas. It’s a zillion miles away. Another universe. But, somehow, she is able to stay connected to the family like Spiderman. She’s the spider. And the family gets stuck to her web. (Probably because the web is really appealing. Web = Facetimes with Aishu).
That time she was still a Columbo:
She knows all the things. In all the world. Don’t let that Motherhood cape fool you. Underneath the cape is also a Private Investigator cape. Where she is the go-to person when you want to know about Blake Shelton’s divorce. Or Bhanu’s exam. Or what time Mom’s flight lands.
She is everything to our family:
She brings us together – despite being apart. She makes us laugh (yes, her jokes have gotten funnier with time) and she makes us wonder how we got so darn lucky to call her our sister.
Happiest of birthdays to our mama, our spider, and our Columbo. We love you the most.
[…] the regularly scheduled weekend wrap-up was dedicated to our Bapsi yesterday, I think I’ll start this week off with a round-up of all the things running through my mind […]
