Happy Birthday Couscous

Good morning, good morning!

It’s a big day over here.

It’s Couscous’ birthday today.

Couscous is Ishaan’s class’ fish.

It’s all he’s been talking about this morning.

Yesterday, the kids made cupcakes to celebrate the day. And they are all also making cards to hang on the wall where her fish tank sits.

I love that they’re celebrating her birthday. In the words of Ishu’s teacher, “She is a very important part of our classroom. She helps new children feel at ease, offers comfort for children who are upset, and gives the children a chance to care for a pet by feeding her.”

So all the kids are showing up with their birthday cards, wearing blue (the color of Couscous), and ready to dig into cupcakes.
