The storm is comin’!
It’s probably going to be an ‘early release’ day at Ishu’s school. The forecast says the snow is gonna start around 11am. And it’s gonna snow and snow and snow and snow and snow.
WAHOO.
I did a Trader Joes run yesterday to make sure we were plenty supplied through the weekend.
We’ve got a gingerbread house to be made, DIY ornaments to create, and A Snowy Day to watch on Amazon Prime (thanks, Emily, for the rec!).
We’re all set.
I wasn’t sure if they were going to end up cancelling the entire day of school today because of the weather, so I hustled over to his school before his teacher left to give her her holiday present.
Walgreens is doing custom photo books for 50% off right now. And I have a ton of photos of the two of them together – or her with the entire class – thanks to the school’s communication dashboard. So, we wrote a little poem, found some fun photos to include, and made ourselves a book.
I hope she loves it.
This isn’t a traditional school, so Ishu’s teachers don’t get the normal two weeks off that you’d imagine they get. As much as I enjoy passing my kid off so I have some time to get things done during the day, I also feel sad that the teachers at his school don’t get the same benefits that people who work at other schools do. (If they were paid better, that’d be one thing. But even that, nope).
SO, we just want to let her know she’s oh-so appreciated.
Okay, I think I’m signing off for the day. I hear a little monkey waking up in the room next door.
Have a good one!
