Ishu has been so into Lion King these days. Which makes my inner child so happy because that is, DEFINITELY, my favorite Disney classic.
We got him a Toniebox for Christmas and the Lion King is his favorite figurine to play. Over and over and over and over again.
He listens so intently and reacts at just the right moments.
He’s afraid of Scar and runs and hides in the corner when Scar is about to dig his claws into Mufasa’s paws.
His favorite song to dance to is “Just Can’t Wait to be King.” But his favorite song to SING right now is, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” More specifically, the intro. When Timon and Pumba have their back-and-forth.
“I can see what’s happening,” he’ll start in his cute little voice.
“What?” I’ll respond.
“And they don’t have a clue,” he continues.
“WHO?” I’ll say loudly. “They’ll fall in love and here’s the….”
“…bottom line,” he smiles, “Our trio is down to TWO,” as he holds up two fingers.
It’s all he wants to listen to and watch and sing.
Yesterday, we picked him up from school and decided to walk home via the riverwalk. He found a stick in our path and deemed it his walking stick.
At one point, we looked over and he was hunched over, limping with his stick, trying to walk on one hand.
“What are you doing, Ishu?” Ankur asked.
“I’M RAFIKI,” he said with a smile.
His obsession with all things Lion King is pretty much the cutest stinking thing ever.
And, as I sit here and type this, I see him inching toward the Toniebox. And, yup, whaddya know, out comes the lion.
Ha.
Have a good day everyone.
Hakuna Matata.
