Good morning! We are on Day 4. There was still crying during the initial separation yesterday, but I’m pretty sure he stopped crying by the time I reached the end of the hallway.
And then the pictures they sent throughout the day brought so much relief and peace to my mama heart.
I mean, look at this HUGE SMILE.
It’s blurry because I had to zoom in and crop out all the other kiddos, but OHMYGOSH that smile.
I also e-mailed his teacher to ask if I should send some food or snacks and, in her response, she let me know that he has been eating really well at school and, often, asking for seconds.
Who is this kid and what have they done to my child?
Ankur got done at 4:30 yesterday and we both made our way over, giddy with excitement. We walked to the room and saw that the toddlers were on a walk.
So we rushed outside to see if we could see them.
And my child was holding onto the rope like all the other kids.
I’m blown away.
Napping at school. Without the pacifier. Eating and asking for seconds. And staying in line. WHAT IS THIS LIFE.
Early childhood teachers and educators are INSANELY underpayed. Do you know HOW HARD IT IS TO DO ALL THESE THINGS WITH ONE KID?! And then they do it with ALL THE KIDS.
I have no words.
Hope you have a happy day and are grinning cheek-to-cheek like this little guy.

So happy to read about your little guy’s positive school experience. You’re making me miss all those years when I taught preschool! You should feel very proud of all you’ve done to nurture him and give him the confidence to enter this next phase of his life!
