It was HORRIBLE out yesterday.
Pouring down rain. If you can even say, “pouring DOWN.”
The winds were going at 35mph so, from our window, the rain actually looked like it was flying sideways. Our apartment was creaking in all the rooms. And the windows on the building across the street looked like they were going to rip right off.
It was terrifying.
And it made me all the more anxious for winter. Because CAN YOU IMAGINE those winds in the winter? I will die. For certain. I think I need to hibernate in California from November to February.
I mean, I know the whole ‘being married’ thing is that you kinda probs should live with your partner. But if I’m not even ALIVE to live with, does that logic still work? Ugh.
I’m scared.
Needless to say, we did not leave the apartment yesterday. And, yes, I’ve been rocking my PJs for the past 36 hours. No shame.
Mondays are our days without Bella. And, even if she did come on Mondays, she definitely wouldn’t have come yesterday because nobody should be walking outside in that kind of weather.
Which was fine because I don’t usually schedule meetings or testing on Mondays. We did end up having an impromptu meeting in the afternoon to align on a situation. That meeting ended up being only 15-20 minutes long.
Fortunately, during that time, Ishu’s Dadi was available to read him Itsy Bitsy Spider on the Facebook Portal.
“Eeeeeee, beeeeeeeayaayya spy,” he says. Over and over and over.
And then he cries when it gets to the end.
Luckily for Ishu, his Dadi will do literally anything to make him a happy little clam.
So she continued to read the same story again and again. Until he decided he was done.
I read this tweet the other day.
It reminds me of Ishu’s grandparents.
They’ll do ANYTHING. They’ll read the same book 2934 times. Dance and hop around in front of their TV. Hang out in the pantry.
If it makes Ishu happy, they’ll do it.
Grandparents are golden. Especially Ishu’s.
Questions of the Day:
What is one thing you remember your grandparents doing for you growing up?
