Whew! It is HOT outside! This is the first day in a long time where I’ve walked out of my apartment this morning without a coat on.
This morning, I woke up at 5:30AM with plenty of time to make my coffee (going on Day 2 of no Starbucks!) and pack my lunch for the day.
I’ve been adding avocados to everything. So delicious and so filling.

Work today was pretty good overall. One of the first grade teachers had her students write encouraging letters to the 3rd graders taking the CST. Reading this was definitely a high point in the day:
We also added a new kiddo to our caseload this afternoon. He was getting speech services, but we tacked on academic goals and academic services based on his current educational growth/progress. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I love Rocketship’s RTI model.

After work, I drove up to Sunnyvale to meet up with Val and Jeff. I spent about 45 minutes in the park – just me and my flexy – to disconnect and have a “meeting with my self” which is a mandatory, vital part of this new organization system.
I spent 30 of those minutes studying the squirrels climbing up the trees. I need to reschedule another meeting with myself.
Val and Jeff (and their kids, Braiden and Mia) are moving to Austin, Texas this weekend. I can’t believe they’re leaving California! It’s pretty crazy (and sad) how I’ve only hung out with them a total of 5 times since they moved up here, but we live only 10 minutes from each other.
I don’t know how or why or when life gets so busy, but it just happens. I’m just glad that we always pick up right where we left off whenever we see each other and fall right back into our crazy college friendship (minus the tequila shots).
I’m going to miss her so much! I will definitely be visiting Austin sometime soon. Love you, Val! <3

Avocados are the best! That comment about half of your friends being one way and half your friends being the other is SO TRUE! haha

Yes. I live in the Sacramento area and it is getting warm! I think tomorrow it is supposed to be like 95 here! Time to break out the swim suits and sunscreen! 🙂
