Fun Facts Friday: Long Live Christmas!

1) It’s Friday! It’s Friday! It’s Friday! It’s also Christmas. Well, by Christmas, I mean we are CELEBRATING Christmas! Tonight, we are throwing the biggest bash of the century.

2) Today started off with a run. Unfortunately, because it’s so darn early when I wake up, the run has to be done on the treadmill. Which isn’t as exciting. But it gets the job done. And I don’t stumble over any cats in the process.

3) We have gardening as an Enrichment option for our kids at school and it has been amazing to watch the excitement these kids get as they plant seeds for the very first time.

Through the process of gardening, they are recognizing what it means to be patient. And understanding that growth doesn’t, and can’t, just happen overnight. When they walk through the garden, they tiptoe around and they’re so gentle when they’re touching or moving the plants. I love watching them explore. Especially the itty-bitty ones.

4) I came home from work yesterday, went straight to the freezer to pull out the cookie dough to snack on (what, that’s not normal?). But then decided that I was way too munchy to be snacking on a log of dough. So, I pulled out BethyV’s popcorn maker.

But then I quickly remembered that I am so terrible at new toys. So, I settled for the brown paper bag method.

It’s foolproof!

5) My nephew Facetimed me last night so that he could read me a bedtime story. Am I lucky or what?

6) I’ve been eating Spinach Feta Wraps from Starbs for breakfast every day lately. Not because of a lack of food at home, but because they have some Bonus Star promotion going on until the 12th. Every breakfast sandwich bought = one bonus star. You know those marketing promos and Facebook ads? They’re catered to crazies like me.

7) I left work at 4PM yesterday. Let’s preface this fun fact with a statement: I NEVER LEAVE WORK THAT EARLY. Okay, moving on. I don’t think I know what to do with my life when I’m given so many hours after the work day.

I sat with the The Voice playing on my TV, my computer open with multiple tabs, my Pandora blaring away, my Kindle on my lap, all while staring at my ceiling and eating popcorn out of a brown paper bag.

I think it’s better for me to work my 12-hour days. Because when I don’t have those days, I find myself really confused about life and what to do with it.

Anyway, it is high time for me to get my booty out the door and drive to work. Because the sooner, we get to work, the sooner it will be done. And the sooner work is done, the sooner we get to celebrate Christmas. Y’know what I’m sayin’?
