And the countdown is OVER.
Sort of.
Just gotta make it through today and we’ll be on our way to Spring Break Land! The land of plenty of sleep, lots of outdoors, and the best company around.
The whole family is flying in to Palm Springs this weekend to spend a few days relaxing and reunion-izing. From what I can tell, everybody desperately needs a break from reality. I don’t care what we do; I’m just excited to have a week away with the people I love the most.
But, before I get too carried away with spring break plans, let’s rewind and revisit some fun events from the week in the form of our usual Fun Facts Friday post.
1) I walked away from a box of donuts yesterday. I’m not sure if you know this about me, but I love sprinkles like a fat kid loves…well…sprinkles. When sprinkles are layered on top of chocolate and fried dough, I’m pretty much done for. But, since I’m still in that WW honeymoon phase, I said “No!” and walked away. Yes, I actually screamed, “No” at the donuts in an effort to scare them away. Food – 0. Fat Kid – 1.
2) Yesterday was Multicultural Day at our school. I love fun events like this because it reminds me that there is so much more to our daily learning experience than standards and assessments.
Not to mention, the kids look adorable.
3) I’m not typically a sweet tooth person, but I was craving something sweet last night. (Possibly because the donuts triggered my tastebuds). Jen and I went to Popbar after yoga and I ordered the Almond Joy bar. (Coconut gelato dipped in dark chocolate. Covered in crushed almonds + shredded coconut). I had a few bites to satisfy my sweet tooth and sent the rest home with her to share with Juan. Even though I didn’t have the whole thing, discovering this place may have been a mistake. It is dangerously D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S.
4) Not to make this whole post WW-related, but can I just talk about how lucky I am to have co-workers who hold me accountable for my points? Abril has been responsible for snatching Chex-Mix and chips out of my hand over the past two weeks.
That’s what I need more than anything, remember? A professional food slapper. Who slaps food out of my hands before it reaches my mouth.
I have one. And, lucky for me, she’s also really good at collaborating about all things special ed related.
5) Again, another WW fact. But this one is my favorite. Despite being a challenging week of eating many meals out, little to no activity, and grape juice on 3 separate occasions, I still managed to lose 1.4 pounds this week. I’m pretty much loving this program right now. Mainly because I still get wine and nobody yells at me. AND I still lose weight.
Questions of the Day:
- What is your favorite donut flavor?
- Rainbow sprinkles or chocolate?
- What are you doing this weekend?
