Good morning and Happy Friday!
My weekend plans include lots of quality time with family, a ton of hiking, and hopefully getting my life together. (<– But seriously, when does my weekend NOT include ‘getting my life together?’)
It was supposed to rain all weekend long, but the forecast changed and we’ll be having a dry (but cloudy) weekend. Perfect for hiking!
But before I get too ahead of myself, I must keep the weekly tradition alive and dive into some fun facts from the week!
1) This little one came and visited school on Wednesday. He always shows up at such a perfect time. When I’m overwhelmed. When I feel like I’m not making much of a difference. He just pops in and reminds me how much I love what I do.
I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this kid after he graduates from high school. He’s a special one.
2) I got a new car at the beginning of the school year and, at first, I was NOT down with the rearview camera. It shows up on the screen when I’m reversing, but it also turns on when I’m making a right turn. Over time, it grew on me and I absolutely LOVE it now. I feel a little more secure watching the traffic behind me when I’m changing lanes. And, I just like knowing what’s going on behind me.
So much so that, sometimes, even when I’m not changing lanes, I’ll turn my blinker on so I can see what’s happening back there.
Well, my friends, people on the road don’t really like you when your blinker’s going for 10 minutes straight and you haven’t switched lanes. (I’m speaking from personal experience).
But, last week, I discovered how to turn on the rearview camera without turning on my blinker. THIS IS AMAZING. I feel like I have a new superpower. Eyes on the back of my head.
3) Hema got me such a cute scarf to prep me for my fun snow adventure. She sent it through Amazon and their gift tags are so little and get lost in their big boxes so, for a good 5 minutes, I didn’t know who had sent it to me. She did such a great job picking out something so PERFECT for me that – before I found the gift tag – I actually believed that I must have ordered it myself and forgot about it.
(Which also is a sign that I’ve been shopping on Amazon FAR too often if I couldn’t remember whether I purchased something or not).
4) Someone ELSE threw their Christmas tree out this week. AFTER I threw Chester away. Which means that, someone, somewhere, might love Christmas as much as I do. (Or someone, somewhere is lazier than I am).
5) Speaking of Christmas trees, I’m going to Yosemite over Presidents Day weekend and I’m SO EXCITED. The cabin we booked says it’s surrounded by pine trees. LONG LIVE CHRISTMAS.
Okay, with that, I am off to start my day.
Have a good one! Happy Happy FRIDAY!
