1) Happy Friday! I’m going to the Giants game tonight! I don’t even like baseball. But I like NorCal. And alcohol. 2/3 ain’t bad.
May 2013 – That was my very first Giants Game. I’m like a regular now.
2) I just got this lovely wedding invitation in the mail. It’s the year of weddings! (Either that or I’m getting ridiculously old now)
Sabrina and Lino are getting married! ๐
I can imagine the hashtags now: #sabrino2014
3) One of my BFF’s, Greg, is graduating from law school. YAY!
(Side note about Greggy: We became friends during our 2nd year of college. We were both involved in the Student Alumni Association (SAA) but were on different committees so we never really interacted. Until one day when I walked into the SAA office and shouted out, “Who has Verizon?” and Greg raised his hand. BFFs ever since. This was back in the day when there were flip phones, text messaging packages, and Verizon was doing a cool promo where you could text anyone who had Verizon an UNLIMITED amount. So, obviously, I needed to find texting pals to entertain me when lectures got boring. Needless to say, our texting friendship turned into a real friendship. And, nearly 10 years later, I am ECSTATIC to be a part of this special day with him!)
4) A couple weeks ago, I went to San Pedro Square Market. I parked in the parking structure across the street and, when it was time to go, I validated my ticket at the bar. By the time I got to the exit station, I couldn’t find my ticket anymore. I frantically went through my entire purse and jacket pockets, but couldn’t find it ANYWHERE. So I had to awkwardly reverse my car (while all sorts of people gave me pissy looks since I made them back up too) and had to pay the maximum fee of $20 to exit the structure. Well, I ended up finding the ticket under my seat earlier this week. Any chance you think the city of San Jose does reimbursements? ๐
5) I bought myself some new running shoes from Running Revolution. My old ones had holes in them so I said goodbye. I’ve had them since August – is that too early to buy a new pair?
6) I had two IEP meetings this week. The night before BOTH of them, I forgot my computer charger at school. It’s amazing how much quicker IEP drafting can go when I know I HAVE to finish it within a certain time.
No charger = less blog reading + more work.
7) Yesterday, our staff met after school to practice and film a song/dance to share with our kiddos before state testing in May. We changed the words of Pharell’s, “Happy” to Rocketship’s “Ready.” Unfortunately, testing is a big part of our education system. Fortunately, we found a way to make it a little more enjoyable for our kids.
8) Yesterday I went to one of my student’s house for a birthday party for his younger sister. She turned 3. She also sneakily stole a few bites of frosting when she thought nobody was looking. Cutest little princess ever.
9) I bought myself some new wine glasses from Target. Beth and I keep breaking them somehow. Over-usage or something like that.
10) I’m bringing back the crockpot. Last night, I threw in some ground turkey to use in my salad this afternoon.
Maybe I’m out of practice or something, but it didn’t turn out that well. So, I threw it in the frying pan and fixed it up a bit.
Much better.
Hope you have a fab Friday! ๐
