Happy Friday 🙂
After this day is over, we’ve got three more days of school, two days of parent conferences, and then it’s SPRING BREAK! I know I sound like a broken record at this point, but it is crazy how quickly this year is going by.
I’m not complaining.
Moving on.
1) Next week, I’m flying out to Vegas for Joel and Kristen’s wedding! Can’t wait to see my honorary brother tie the knot!
2) Yesterday, we had a release day from work. Thursday is minimum day for our kiddos and they leave at 2:30. Normally, teachers have professional development until 5PM. But, once a month, we get a “release day” where we take care of LIFE things (like doctors appointments, etc.). Obviously, I didn’t do that. I hung out with my old kiddos instead.
I can’t believe it’s been two years since our Room 54 family parted ways. I miss them so much. But I am so grateful to have met them because THEY are the reason I am so passionate about my job and education reform in general.
3) Last night, BethyV and I decided to go to the foot spa on a whim. It’s become our new weekly tradition since The Bachelor is over and Pizza Night died down.
4) A few weeks ago, I went to Brianna and Andrew’s apartment for dinner. She made an amazing beet salad (if you picked around the beets) because it included some of the yummiest goat cheese I’ve ever tasted in my life. Yesterday, Brianna brought me a present and I nearly peed my pants out of excitement.
5) Regarding my car situation yesterday, the part that needed to be replaced was under extended warranty. Which means I paid $0.00. That was almost worth the near-death experience.
6) My go-to Starbucks drink used to consistently be a soy latte. And then, on days when I preferred something a little less milk-y, I would get a blonde roast with soy milk. Last year, around this time, I attempted to start this clean eating thing, which meant I had to cut out soy from my diet.
Ever since I did that for a month, I’ve actually preferred half and half in my coffee INSTEAD of soy milk. Weird. That makes me feel like I’m actually in control of my taste buds. Bring on the seafood! (No. Don’t. I can’t.)
7) BethyV put green food coloring in my toilet on Saint Patricks Day. But, because Tuesday was such a rough day, I didn’t even notice when I flushed. How’s that for some lack of mindfulness when you don’t even notice that your pee looks green?
8) I don’t even feel guilty about not having food in my fridge because of this:
#DoItForTheStars
With that, I am off to get ready and go stop at Starbs to get ALL THE STARS.
Have a good day!
Questions of The Day:
- Favorite kind of cheese?
- Did you wear green on St. Patricks Day?
- What’s your fall back food/meal if you don’t do any meal prep?

You should drive the 4 hours from VEGAS to come to Los Angeles!!!!!! 😉
And my GO-TO foods when I don’t plan anything in advance… Canned seafood (packed in olive oil) over raw spinach. IT IS SO GOOD TO ME, LOL!!! I have TONS of cans of seafood in my house a long with LOTS of bags of raw spinach!
