I AM VACCINATED!
I got my second shot yesterday morning and, aside from a little soreness, I haven’t had any symptoms.
THE END IS NEAR.
I feel it. I could feel it yesterday while waiting in line. Everyone was grinning and it felt light and airy and happy.
Ankur stayed outside to watch Ishu while I popped in to get the shot. And before leaving, I turned around and said to all the doctors and nurses administering the shots, “THANK YOU ALL for doing what you do!”
It made me tear up as I was saying it.
There have been so many people who have held up this country over the last year and it makes me emotional to think about.
After over a year of isolating and getting to hug and squeeze only our family members, I AM READY FOR SOME FULL ON BODY HUGS. When we get the green light, I’m gonna start hugging every damn person on the street.
Yesterday was also the day I got to see Arjun and Sherene. The last time I saw Juna was back at Sister’s wedding. And it was our first time meeting Sherene OFF Zoom and Facetime.
We celebrated with drinks at R&D Kitchen and then Yardhouse.
It felt W-E-I-R-D to be sitting INSIDE a restaurant. But Yardhouse is HUGE and we were tucked in a corner and the closest people were well over 20 feet away.
It felt so nice. And normal. And something I had been missing for so, SO LONG.
Full body hugs and restaurants and happy hours indoors and a life without masks.
It’s coming and I’m ready.

Congrats! I am fully vaccinated too and it’s such a wonderful feeling. That’s great you were able to see some friends and go IN a restaurant. I went into my first restaurant in a year last month and it was so weird, but wonderful.
