I’m in DC – I survived the flight and I’m SO happy to be reunited with Sissy.
Sister greeted me at the airport with a sandwich from Jersey Mike’s. Isn’t she just the best?
This morning, I got to the San Jose airport with plenty of time to spare (Thank you, Brianna, for the ride!). But it’s been a while since I’ve flown an airline that’s not Southwest, so I was a little confused about where to go if I had to check in to American Eagle. American? US Airways? Luckily, I found the place and went to check in my bag. My bag (since I’m packing for the next 4 weeks) was 54 pounds. Oops. So I removed two books and avoided the $100 fee for overweight bags.
After getting through security, I was able to spend the next hour or so with my friend and co-worker, Tiffany, who was flying to Vegas around the same time my flight took off.
My flight got slightly delayed and, as a result, when I landed in LA, I had to bolt over to my gate to make sure I didn’t miss my connecting flight. Thank goodness there was no time for dilly-dallying because I didn’t want to have to work myself up again by waiting around for too long.
When I got to my seat, there was the cutest little 2-year old sitting next to me. Her mom, sitting right next to her, made some joke about me “being the lucky one who gets to sit next to the toddler” and told me that she would switch seats with her if she became too squirmy. But, I was actually really grateful to sit next to her because Lord knows I need any kind of distraction when I’m in a plane.
Sitting next to the mom and daughter pair was absolutely wonderful. It was the first time in a LONG time where I felt relaxed enough to actually doze off mid-flight. I loved it. I made sure to thank them at least 25 times when I got off the plane.
Now, I know the trick.
Find the seat next to the babies.
I’m sure most people would gladly give up their seats if it were next to a screaming toddler. Right?
Speaking of toddlers, can we talk about how CUTE this one is?
Anyway, time to make a dent in Goldfinch. I did ZERO reading on the flight since I was so enamored by the little kid.
Good night! 🙂
Questions of the Day:
- What are you currently reading?
- Are you scared of flying or are you a JET-SETTER?

How fun! I’m currently reading Paper Towns by John Green (I know I am far too old for YA fiction, don’t judge me!) I love traveling, I think it is important to get dressed and enjoy the entire trip, not just the destination i.e. wearing proper trousers, shoes and shirts that don’t resemble pajamas. Have fun!

The kid is really cute! By the way, I salute you by considering of needing any kind of distraction when you’re in a plane, as it ‘s very opposite to mine. When I took an air trip, I want to stay silent on my seat while being entertained with my stuffs. LOL!
