Fun Facts Friday is a thing I want to adopt for several reasons.
1) Some of my favorite bloggers do it each week and I’m a copycat Friday is always a great day to celebrate all the fun things (and the fact that I’m alive at the end of the week)!
2) I absolutely ADORE writing lists. Or bullet-point posts. Because I always have a variety of things floating around in my head at one time.
3) Most weekdays tends to be GOGOGO all the time. Each day, I end up coming home late, passing out, and repeating the cycle until Friday. So, instead of feeling guilty for not writing each day, I can write about the week during FUN FACT FRIDAY!
So, let’s do this:
- I just got back from an ISE Family Night at Rockin’ Jump. We organized an event for our students and families to come together and literally jump off the walls.
Rockin’ Jump is similar (and by similar, I mean exactly the same) to Sky High, where I went a few months ago back in Irvine. It was honestly the best way to end a Rocketship-filled week.
Pegging balls at Playing Dodgeball with my kiddos, watching them dive into the foam pit, seeing the sheer amount of energy they had all night was absolutely the perfect end to my week.
Aren’t they the cutest?
Probably the highlight of my week thus far.
- I’m amazed at the things my kids teach me. One of the students I worked with today was doing a phenomenal job and I made some comment like, “Man, if all my kids behaved like you, that would be GREAT.” The student turned to me and said, “Ms. B. Not everyone can be the same. That’d be boring.” The same girl who, last week, told me that she “knows a lot of things in her head, but when it’s time to use pencil and paper or read words in a book, she needs a little help.” Now this student may be performing below grade level. But that kind of understanding about life, about people, about her self – she is way beyond her years. Needless to say, her comment this morning made me think about how my life would, in fact, be boring if all my students didn’t challenge me each day with their differences. I am a lucky lady.
- I am cutting back on the red cup. Mainly because I realized, earlier this week, how scary too much caffeine can be. This is a big deal. Please wish me luck.
- I have not yet listened to Christmas music this year. This is also a big deal. Since I normally start rockin’ out to “All I want for Christmas” before Halloween is over.
- We are celebrating Thanksgiving in Monterey! In less than a week, the whole fam will be in NorCal! So excited!

I hope you have started some of that Christmas music up since Friday. Total blasphemy. I have been rocking out to Scotty McCreery’s country take on all of the Christmas songs, and of course Michael Buble 🙂
If you adore lists and bullet points you should check out Week in Review with Meghan at Clean Eats Fast Feets. She’s ALL about the lists! (As am I 😉 )
