Good morning! I survived my first day of work. I miss my old school and my co-workers a ton, but I appreciated the fact that there was absolutely no traffic on my morning commute! (I have Justin Timberlake’s song on repeat in my car and was singing and dancing the whole drive over. It was our last Launch song at Rocketship and listening to it makes me miss all my little babies so much!)
We sat through a Special Education training from 8-2:30 going over a variety of systems and structures. By the end of it, my butt was numb but I was really excited to begin the school year and start working with the kiddos. I made sure to jot down all my questions. Every place does SpED a little different and I want to make sure I take the time to understand everything before I jump right in.
After our SpED training was done, I drove over to the school to meet my new co-workers and everyone was so welcoming that it made all of my concerns completely disappear. Though I’ll have the same number of kiddos as I did on my caseload last year, I’m really excited to focus on only one grade level this year. Hopefully it’ll allow me to do a lot more co-planning and co-teaching.
After work, I rushed over to the Weight Watchers meeting (lost 0.6 pounds!). And then celebrated with a dry-county beer. (Every week, I do the same thing. I weigh in and then use up the rest of my daily and most of my extra weekly points at dinner. And then I try to be real good the rest of the week. “Try” being the key word.)
Afterward, I came home and we had some Samsung visitors who helped us fix our TV. They ended up staying for a little over an hour and we had such great conversation. They were fun people. I wanted them to be our friends.
Once they were done repairing the TV, I hopped on the phone with some people to tell them about my first day while also hammering away and putting up all our frames.
How does it look?
Now I’m just typing up this post after a short workout at the gym this morning. Trying to dry off before jumping in the shower. I hate showering while I’m still sweaty. Because I just remain sweaty even after the shower.
Lovely sweat talk this morning.
You’re welcome.
Have a good one!

- How long is your morning commute?
- What’s your beer of choice?

Miss you Divya! I had my first 15 minute bike commute yesterday and it was AMAZING compared to an hour + in the car.
