WE BROKE OUT THE COZY GANOOSH.
If you missed this post from a few days ago, PUTTING ON JACKETS is hard in this household.
So my new move is throwing the jacket into the bottom of the stroller and thenplopping this child into the cozy ganoosh. Sans jacket.
He thinks he’s winning.
I think I’m winning.
And IT’S WORTH EVERY PENNY FOR MY SANITY, OKAY.
I’m taking a page out of my Bhabhi’s book and I’m drawing a heart on Ishu’s palm these days. From The Kissing Hand. He kisses my palm. I kiss his palm. And he gets to decide what color marker to use for the hearts.
Whatever works, man. Whatever works.
After I dropped him off, I went to my fav coffee shop. And got a fun drink. A mocha. And then spent some time journaling.
I always feel more clear-headed when I journal and brain dump. And some mornings just call for an hour of that. It felt really nice, sipping on my coffee, reflecting on ways to be more intentional (and confident!) with life right now, and every once in a while looking up and out the window at all the beautiful fall colors.
I love mornings like that.
Working for a school district on the west coast is so nice in that I don’t really have to be at anything ’til 10am at the earliest. Leaving my mornings for me to get in a workout and/or have a slow start at the coffee shop.
If/when we move back to the west coast, I’m gonna be in for a rude awakening when I’ve gotta be somewhere before 8. That feels hard. And I very much commend all of you humans who are doing that.
I’m going to embrace this job, this schedule, this season of life while I’ve got it!
I also wrote some reports, got in a workout, and picked Ishu up early since the weather was warm(er) and sunny! I wanted him to get a chance to go to the park since it’s been a while. He was so so happy to run into some old friends and frolic around barefoot.
And now it’s Friday! We are in for some pretty great weather this weekend. And, yes, I’ve already mapped out our Saturday and Sunday to make sure we maximize our time outside! It’s like the final farewell to fall before the temps drop back down. Our last hurrah with temps in the 70s ’til the spring/summer next year! GOTTA GO OUT WITH A BANG!
Hope you all have a happy Friday and a great weekend ahead!
