Good morning!
Gonna keep this little monkey home for one more day. He’s doing better; just has a cough and a leaky faucet nose. So maybe one more day of mama snuggles may help.
Yesterday early afternoon, there was a knock on the door. And we opened it up to a bag full of all of our favorite things.
My favorite coffee order. Ishu’s favorite cake pop. The zinc and Vitamin C drops that Ishu takes daily. Even a toy CAR that was Jurassic PARK THEMED.
I ruffled through it and my first thought was, “WHO THE HECK KNOWS US THIS WELL?”
I couldn’t possibly imagine a single person in the world who knew exactly what we use/exactly what the perfect care package could be.
And then I checked my phone and saw that it was dropped off by Auntie Jenn and Max.
I’m not kidding when I say my emotions got the best of me yesterday. Ishu is the sick one, but I’m the one with all the tears. Ha.
I was supposed to get ramen lunch with Jenn yesterday and was looking forward to a kid-free lunch with her. But then ended up having to postpone because, y’know, sick kid.
And she turned around and did this sweet, kind gesture and made us feel oh-so loved.
Not just ’cause she dropped something off. But the fact that she knows our lives so well that she knew the exact, perfect items to include.
There’s something pretty special about someone paying attention to your life.
WE FEEL SEEN.
Jenn – if you’re reading this, we love you so hard.
Now, I’m sitting here typing this up while Ankur and Ishu are still sleeping in the other room. I initially fell asleep with the two of them. But every time Ishu coughed in the middle of his sleep, I woke up to adjust his pillow and check on him. At around 11pm, Ankur leaned over Ishu lying between us and whispered in my ear, “He’s gonna cough a lot in the middle of the night and if you get up every time, you’re not going to get any sleep.”
So he sent me off.
And I’m oh-so grateful. Because two nights in a row of really shitty, broken sleep were doing something wild to my head. But, this morning, I’m feeling a little more myself.
Now I’m off to go hydrate. And caffeinate. And then eat a nice, big breakfast.
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES OUT THERE!
