This past weekend was absolutely unforgettable – filled with wedding fun and time with some of my favorite people.
Fay and David’s wedding weekend began on Friday evening where guests met up at The Glendon for dinner and drinks to kick off the festivities. Unfortunately, I was exhausted from the flight and still completely jet lagged so I ended up passing out at 7PM and didn’t get to participate in all the fun.
On Saturday morning, I woke up early, packed my bag, and went to LAX to pick Lynsey up from the airport.
I’m so glad she was able to make it to the wedding – we weren’t sure if she’d be able to attend since she just started her residency program. But, somehow, she was able to get it done. She always does. 🙂
Lynsey and I drove straight to the W Hotel where we were staying for the night. We had a few hours before we had to start getting ready so we hung out with everyone by the pool and ordered some fancy schmancy (AKA expensive) cocktails from the pool bar. Once we all started getting ready, the excitement and enthusiasm kicked in and every once in a while, one of us would shout out, “FAY’S GETTING MARRIED!”
We ended up taking longer than expected so we all took a cab up Hilgard to the venue – which was at UCLA itself. Fay and David’s ceremony was held at Dickson Plaza – the exact place they met back in college years ago. We were all giddy with excitement that we were back at our school – our home – but the goosebumps and tingles hit even harder when we watched the bride get out of the car and walk down the aisle.
I’m slightly biased because I have admired Fay since my freshman year of college. Not only is she gorgeous, but she has a personality that just draws you in immediately. And that’s exactly what happened as she walked down the aisle. As she got closer and closer to David, my heart started racing and I couldn’t help but get a little emotional with each step.
Watching David’s expression as Fay approached him definitely made me tear up a bit. It was so clear – to everyone who was watching this portion of the ceremony – how much they adore one another. Their ceremony was so personal and sweet. David Bress (one of their close friends) clearly put a lot of time and effort into making the ceremony fit their personalities and made us all chuckle as he reminisced about the college years.
The ceremony was so simple, yet so beautiful at the same time. Just perfect.
After Mr. and Mrs. Garcia went off to take pictures, a few of us went to take our own pictures in front of Royce and Powell. It’s crazy how, even after 4 years of college, UCLA is just as beautiful and breathtaking as it was on my first day of orientation.
Eventually, we got our act together and started walking toward the Faculty Center where the reception was being held. We were a few drinks behind because we were so focused on taking pictures. But, I honestly can’t remember the last time this group of people was together in one place. Pictures were necessary.
We took a Rieber 3North picture. From midnight volleyball and Puzzles curly fries to cocktail attire and wedding receptions – we’ve grown up, my friends.
Except Kirstin doesn’t want to grow up TOO much. That’d just be boring. Here she is taking a selfie with the bride:
I followed suit with an elevator selfie:
I guess we’ll always have a little ‘crazy’ in us. That’s why we get along so well.
Fay and David’s wedding day was absolutely perfect. It was filled with family, friends, our alma mater, and so much love. I am so happy for the newlyweds! Congratulations, Fay and David! <3
Questions of the Day:
- When was the last time you had a reunion with your best friends?
- If you’re married, was there significance to your venue? If not, where do you want to get married?

That does look like an amazing wedding! It’s so much more fun to go to weddings when you love the people getting married. The venue is amazing and I love her dress!

It looks like a fabulous wedding. The bride was beautiful!
My wedding definitely had significance. After meeting my husband at the Tram Road Race in Palm Springs (a 6k run up a steep hill gaining about 2,000 feet elevation in 3.7 miles), three years later we got married on the finish line of the race, after running the race together. I wore white satin running shorts, white lace running bra and t-shirt, and a veil. Pretty memorable.

Wow, Divya!!! I cannot tell you how excited I was to read this beautiful synopsis of the wedding! Thank you, so, so much. First, it meant so much to me that you made the effort to be there after your whirlwind Turkish adventure, and then your post made me so happy!! Thank you, love you, this is just so incredibly kind 🙂
