Since the regularly scheduled weekend wrap-up was dedicated to our Bapsi yesterday, I think I’ll start this week off with a round-up of all the things running through my mind last night as I drifted off to sleep.
My Family:
It’s been so nice to have these past couple of days to be with my family. We didn’t do much. Most of the time we spent together was in the comfort of our living room. Fireplace on. Books and board games out. But the presence of my family around me makes me feel safe and secure. Like all is right in the world.
My Home:
Just a few days ago, I was sitting at the San Jose Airport and I wrote this post where I proclaim Northern California to be my home. And it is. I do feel at home among the redwoods and in the Bay Area. But, every time I return to SoCal, I am hit with a sense of familiarity and comfort. Let’s face it. I have multiple homes. I’ve peed all over the place. Marked my territory everywhere in California. This state though. Nothing like it.
My Christmas List:
I saw something a few days ago as I was mindlessly scrolling through one of my social media feeds. It said something along the lines of, “As we get older, our Christmas list gets smaller and the things you really want for the holidays can’t be bought.”
Ain’t that the truth.
Whether it be a battle of the board games or video chats with the little ones, it’s the time spent with family and friends that really make life worth living.
(It helps when there’s some coffee or chocolate involved)
Feeling fortunate. To wake up every day. To be alive. And to live a life full of so much love.
Question of the Day:
- What is on your Christmas list this year?

For my California family to find a fat fireplace in NY to sit by, and then stay indoors until May.
