Good morning!
We’ve been up for a while over here. Though I’m crossing my fingers that Ankur and Ishu fall back asleep for a little bit longer.
Ishu woke us up at 4am and proclaimed he was done sleeping. When I told him it was still time to sleep, he said, “He’ll sleep tomorrow.”
Ha.
He’s been wanting both of us to lay by his side for bedtime these days.
And then all three of us conk out by 8:30-9ish at the latest. And one of us will wake up discombobulated around midnight and go into the living room and turn off the lights.
Last night, I was the one that woke up.
And I had to snap this picture because, hello, how does this little body take up so much room in a king-sized bed?
We want to transition him to sleep on his own. Or at least start the process. Because I do think I have a tendency to move around a lot which may be impacting his sleep. (To be fair, I probably move because my limbs have gone numb or I’ve got the curl crouch pain in my back from trying to cuddle him). But every time I think about leaving him alone in the middle of the night, I’m like, “eh, no thanks.”
Anyway, yes. We’ve been up for a while.
But it doesn’t feel that bad because bedtime is so early for all of us these days. 🙂
I used to see how other people had their evenings to themselves (after they put their kids to sleep) and would feel envious. Obviously, having that quality time is important to us too. BUT, I really freaking like (and need!) sleep. So we find other ways to get our quality time in. Plus, I kinda like the whole family bedtime thing.
WHO KNOWS.
Some days I wake up saying CO-SLEEPING LIFE IS BEST LIFE.
And other days I try to remember the last time I slept for a consecutive 6 hours without being woken up.
It is what it is for now.
I feel rested enough. And have invested in the chiropractor (ha) and do some morning stretches to work out the co-sleeping kinks.
And I get the comfort of knowing my family is tucked in – by my side – all night. Even when they wake me up at 4am telling me they’ll do more sleeping tomorrow. 🙂
Hope your coffee is strong, your body feels rested, and your toddlers put on their layers without fussing. (That’s my wish for myself too). Have a good one!
