Happy Hump Day!
I celebrated Hump Day shortly after I parked my car at work.
Maybe I should just skip Starbucks altogether and do this at home.
Work:
We have a Data Day coming up on Friday. All our kids have been taking their Benchmark tests and STEP assessments. Data days allow teachers to sort through all their data and regroup kiddos based on need/level. I haven’t had a chance to fully filter through everything, but our kiddos have made significant progress since the last data cycle. I’m excited to spend some time looking at all their growth since the beginning of the year. Moments like this make me realize that, though each day isn’t perfect, we are making progress toward their goals.
Workout:
I got home around 7-ish after our Quarterly PBIS meeting and went straight to the apartment gym. This time, however, there were people in there. Two people came in together right after I hopped on the treadmill. They both went to separate machines. I started running. Two miles on the training schedule for today.
Within 45 seconds, I started coughing. Yet again. But this time, I wasn’t alone. So I tried to be discreet.
But being discreet while coughing is like trying to suppress a laugh. The more you hold back, the more it wants to escape. And louder. And gurglier.
ANYWAY, I just kept going. Because I wanted to hurry up and finish the two miles as fast as I could so I could get outta there.
But I just kept coughing.
And then I got super self-conscious because I KNEW the people who came in were exchanging glances each time I had a mini coughing attack. And then I was suspicious because I felt like they were texting each other about me. Part of me wanted to call it quits at 1.5 miles for the sole reason that I felt uncomfortable around these people that thought I was contaminating their workout space. But I stuck it out.
So, I did it. Day 3 in the books.
Go team.
Dinner:
Beth made taco salads for dinner. I forget how easy it is to throw all these ingredients together to get a simple and delicious meal. This used to be my go-to dinner when I lived in LA.
In Other News:
It’s National Girl Scout Day. AND National Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist Day. Ironic. Let’s celebrate health by eating Samoas and Thin Mints!
Good night!
