Happy Birthday to ME! 🙂 Thank you, Juna, for the wonderful hashtag. So fitting.
And thank you, Patricija, for this hilarious-looking beaver. Also very fitting!
This morning started off WONDERFULLY. I got to sleep in after a LONG time of constantly having to set my darn alarm. And then, I was surprised with flowers, Subway, AND Starbucks.
Does my sister know me or what?
The two of us quickly got ready and made our way over to her office. She went to work and I went to her office gym for a treadmill run and a bike ride while I read a few pages of Goldfinch.
Starting off the morning with a 1.5 hour workout was a wonderful way to start out my 28th year!
After my workout, I picked up lunch for the two of us at Brown Bag.
I opted for a salad – instead of a sandwich – because I absolutely love all the little salad joints on the east coast. NorCal needs to step it up.
During lunch, Sister gave me my card, which was so appropriate.
Thank you, Sissy. I love you so much.
After lunch, I walked home to shower and get ready for the rest of the day.
I walked back to Sister’s office, but she had a couple more things to finish up for work. Which was NO problem for me because I’m starting to get really into the book. I just plopped myself at a Starbucks and read a couple more pages.
When Sister was done, we started walking toward Georgetown. We had plans to go to Roosevelt Island, but made a few stops along the way since it was so gorgeous.
It’s still crazy to me how you could be in another state within a few minutes. I’m a west coast kid. That’s not how things roll in CALI.
I was so glad she brought me to Roosevelt Island. It was a teeny escape from all the noise and as close to a hike as possible (without having to drive way out to the suburbs).
So much green. So many fireflies. Beautiful.
Oh, hi Teddy!
After we walked around the island, we were pretty exhausted. Both of us had been on our feet for quite some time, so we were both eager to take a cab home!
Sister and I met up with Deepna and went to Sweet Green for dinner. I love that they get a ton of their ingredients from local farms. I also love that they share what farms they come from! I definitely made sure to order those ingredients! So fresh!
I definitely enjoyed this salad more than my salad at lunch!
It’s totally not weird to bring your own salad dressing to dinner.
Now we’re cappin’ off the night with some wine, Bachelorette, and sister-sister time.
Thank you to everyone who wished me, talked to me, loved me, hugged me, and made fun of my Starbucks + froyo + wine addictions today. I feel so special today and every day because you’re all a part of my life! <3
Question of the Day:
- When’s your birthday?

Isn’t it fantastic though? To have a blog so you can remember all the minute details of your special day?
That’s why I started blogging – I found that I was forgetting much too much!
