It’s finally Friday.
I don’t know how we managed to get through the week, but it always happens, doesn’t it?
I had a hard time sleeping last night. Which is not usually the case for me. Once I’m out, I’m out. But, around 1AM, I woke up feeling a lot of anxiety and panic and my mind was racing with all sorts of things. When I was still tossing and turning at 2:30, I got out of bed and decided to take a bath and listen to some meditation music.
That definitely did the trick and I was able to fall back asleep for a few hours. Luckily, I don’t feel too tired today so I think we’ll all survive.
Today’s normally a Fun Fact Friday post, but I wanted to shift gears and just copy/paste a message our yoga instructor shared with us. It’s been resonating with me all week long – especially last night as I tried to calm my mind down a bit.
It is REALLY important that you KEEP the things in your life that serve your well being. Usually, when overwhelm shows up or we have challenges on our plate, the first thing to go is often our yoga practice/spiritual practice and the things that serve us best.
Sometimes, we push the people away that matter most and we drop into bad habits or old patterns of self-sabotage.
And the excuse is so we can “deal with the challenge.”
The problem with that is you’ve left yourself with only what is challenging and let go of the very tools that could help you grow and move through it successfully.
This kind of letting go is not logical nor does it support well being. And it is based in limited thinking = Ego Mind.
Things like your yoga practice/spiritual practice and things that renew you are absolutely necessary and should be at the top of your priority list.
They will be what sustains you from the inside out, makes you stronger and more capable to handle anything.
Just allowing that to sink in this morning.
Pretty powerful.
