I think the title of this blog post sums up my weekend quite nicely. If you follow me on Snapchat (@eatteachblog), you’ve probably seen most of these pictures already, but if you don’t (or need a reminder of how cool life is out here in Harrogate, TN), let’s rewind to Friday and do a recap.
Friday:
Date night at Gondolier! This was a spontaneous decision, but with very few items in our fridge (and very little desire to go grocery shopping), a night out seemed like the perfect way to kick off the weekend.
The rest of the night was spent watching Friends on Netflix. Because it just never gets old.
Saturday:
I started the morning off right with some Step Aerobics action. As always, she kicked our butts and I’m still feeling it all over today! Since our fridge was bare, I decided to stop at Kroger on my way home to get a few essentials. Ankur had made a request for some ice cream and, while wandering up and down the ice cream aisle deciding which one to get, I noticed that there were some new items that hadn’t been there before!
So, naturally, I bought three of them. The Whole Foods in San Jose never had the Birthday Cake flavored one so I’m excited to finally get to try that kind! Who knew that little ol’ Harrogate would have such hard-to-come-by items?
By the time I got home, I was starving so I got to work making a tray of roasted vegetables and tossing a salad for lunch. While I (impatiently) waited for the veggies to finish, I hopped on the phone with my Nani and went for a walk around the neighborhood. The time difference makes it hard to talk to my family during the week (mainly because I’m asleep by the time everyone’s out of work) so I try to make up for it on the weekends and make all my phone calls then!
After lunch, I made a tray of brownies for our Paint & Wine Night that evening. I also sampled one to make sure they tasted good enough. (They sure did).
While they cooled off, I got ready for the night out!
We all met up at the Pineapple Tea Room for a fun paint session!
I’m not big on painting but it was nice to hang out with the lovely ladies of the SAA.
I wasn’t the best at following the rules and, initially, I wasn’t too impressed with my painting. But, after staring at it all weekend long (and getting Instagram validation), I’m at peace with it.
I may even feel comfortable with the idea of hanging it up somewhere in the apartment.
Maybe.
Sunday:
Katy and I decided to venture to Knoxville for the day. It was raining pretty heavily in the morning and I thought that would put a damper on our plans, but it cleared up around 11 and we were on our way!
We went to The Tomato Head in Market Square for lunch and indulged in some non-Harrogate cuisine. Everything on the menu looked delicious and we both wanted to order multiple things for fear of never having access to real restaurant-food again. But we reeled it in and chose pizza (Katy) and a burrito (me) with a side of mimosas.
We then made our way over to Target. And Trader Joes. And Starbucks. Obviously.
I’d like to take this opportunity to mention that I walked out of Target with only 4 things in my hand.
If that’s not growing up, I don’t know what is.
Now I’m chugging the caffeine over here to get myself pumped for Monday.
Katy and I are trying a new-to-us Zumba class this evening and I’m excited! We’ll see if the instructor is comparable to Brenda – our Step instructor. Highly unlikely but it’s still fun to look forward to working out again.
Hope you all had a restful, refreshing weekend!
Happy Monday!
