Thank you all, so very much, for your kind words on my last post.
I was fortunate to spend this past Friday with my CMS family at their holiday party. It was really nice to be able to “crash the party.” I know I don’t work at CMS anymore, but these people are some of the most special people in my life. They helped me transition to a new place – with a real grown-up job. They calmed me down when I was up in arms about something (which was quite often. As a new educator, I was faced – many times – with the harsh reality that teaching isn’t always butterflies and rainbows. Shocking, I know). In just one year, they became my support system and welcomed me so graciously with open arms. They were the hardest thing to leave behind this year. And now, with Jay’s absence, my heart misses them even more.
These past few weeks, I’ve been more conscious about being present. About disconnecting more often. And connecting in other, more valuable ways.
I am more reflective of the things, and the people, that I am thankful for.
I’m blessed for my overwhelming, in-your-face, jump-on-you-while-you’re-trying-to-sleep family. I was lucky to spend my Thanksgiving weekend with all of them and I couldn’t have asked for anything better.
I am grateful for a roommate that I love so, so very much. A roommate that doesn’t mind hearing the endless stories about my kiddos each day. And who makes me more fun and more lively than I was last year.
And, obviously, because she shares my love for our X-mas tree, Lord Kiwani.
With that, I am going to disconnect. Hope you all are enjoying your Sunday! 🙂

- What are three things you are thankful for this holiday season?

I’ve made a point to disconnect from the crazy parts of my life right now and reconnect with family & friends.
Is it sad that in your first pic the first thing I noticed were the SJ Sharks signs?!?!
