Good morning! A few of you had commented on last week’s post that you were interested in doing a Confessions post yourself! I am absolutely on board with this idea. Mainly because I LOVE getting to know the person behind the blog and I feel like it gives me a thrill every time someone tells me a secret.
So, I jumped on board the InLinkz train and created a “Link Party” for everyone who wants to follow through with this. It will be up and ready to link to every Wednesday morning @5AM EST. So let’s have some fun, shall we? (If you’ve done a “Confessions” type post in the past, feel free to include it today to get some exposure to your blog! It’ll be fun! Scroll to the bottom to post your link.)
So, without further delay, let’s cue Usher.
These are my confessions…
Confession:
The red cup pictured in my post from Sunday was some sneaky business. No, there is not, miraculously, a Starbucks in Harrogate, TN. (If you’re new here, the closest Starbucks to our town is 70 miles away!) I just happened to go to Starbucks on Saturday night on my way back from Knoxville and then re-used my cup for the next two days. Obviously. You know that term, “basic white girl?” It describes me. Never mind the fact that I’m brown.
Confession:
I know vests are absolutely useless when it comes to the cold. But I wear my blue vest 3 out of 5 days to work. Mainly because the outer world can’t decipher whether it’s the VEST or my STOMACH that has the rolls, y’know.
Confession:
Peggy, my Christmas tree, already has a perfectly good tree topper. But it just didn’t sparkle enough. So, I upgraded and ordered another one from Pier 1. Some might call it money wasted. I call it money well spent. Sequins and sparkles for the prettiest Christmas tree in town!
Questions of the Day:
- What’s your favorite winter item?
- What’s on top of your tree?
- ‘FESS UP! Tell me a secret!

Favorite winter item is all of the cozy big throw blankets! I actually do not have a tree topper but I think the tree looks good without one so I haven’t bought one!
Confession? I’ve been ordering my groceries the past three weeks for delivery so I can stay in my pajamas for 80% of Saturdays!

I love the vest confession! Girl, that’s real life right there. My favorite winter item is my heated steering wheel (I live in Ohio!), I have a star atop my tree, and my socks don’t match but like, not in a cute way. I have a black ankle sock and like, a tube sock. The struggle was so real this morning.
Melissa Blake says
My favorite winter item is definitely hot chocolate!! So good with extra marshmallows!!
P.S. I LOVE that you name your tree too!

My confession is that I fell in love with an old character from my past, and can’t give him up! Lol. But going back to Lancer all these decades later has helped me to survive the insane political season 🙂

I’m so glad I came across your blog because HOLY HILARIOUS I want to be your friend. I also wear my totally useless vest 3 our of 5 days a week and feel really good about keeping my torso warm. I am thinking about doing a confessions post… thanks for making my morning a little happier!
Amber Myers says
Your tree topper is so pretty. I love things that sparkle.
I got a red cup from Starbucks too. Only I wrote FART on mine because my Instagram feed was filled with nice photos of them and I felt like doing something silly.

I love vests! I need free arms for work, and a vest def keeps you wormer than no vest 😉
eatteachblog says
That’s true! I know vests aren’t very warm, but it’s much easier to drive with a vest on than with a full-blown coat!

My favorite winter item is gingerbread hot chocolate, we dont have a tree topper yet our last got broke and we need to replace it. Confession, im addicted to costa ☺

I really racked my brain for something interesting to confess. Truth is, I couldn’t think of anything so I’ll share a few things about me I guess. I’ve never worn a vest of any kind, weird huh? I am very sarcastic, I love boots (15pairs) and winter hats(30). I often have bitchy resting face so many fear me lol.

Hehe I love that you name your tree! She is just beautiful, nice work!
Heather says
I think my favorite winter item has to be all the scarves I can wear or thigh high boots that have become my winter staple! The top of my tree is so cute and decked out with a little light up crescent moon since I’m not really religious and don’t really like that idea of a north star.
Lisa J Lewis says
Confessions! What a fun idea for a linky party! (I love the new sparkly star!) My confession is too many hot toddies, LOL!

I wish I liked whiskey! I would be right there with you. Much more comforting to have a warm hot toddie than a glass of cold, white wine when it’s freezing out!

I love your confessions- you’re hysterical. My tree topper is from a tiny tree we put in our daughter’s room as a baby… it’s pathetic. I need to take a note from your book!
Christina Berger says
My favorite winter item has got to be hats or large, comfy pants to cozy up in on a cold day.
There is a star on top of my tree; similar to yours, but a dulled shade of gold.
Confession: I am addicted to planning

My favorite winter item is scarves. They make my outfits look fabulous. I like the ones which have unique designs. We have ‘parol’ on top of our Christmas tree. It is a star too and one of the most common Christmas decorations here in the Philippines.

I have no confessions.

This is always a fun post to read! I think it’s perfect okay to re-use the cup, so long as you wash it, lol. I also hide behind jackets and sweatshirts when I’m not feeling awesome.

What, there’s no starbucks within a 70 miles radius is a shocker to me 😮 This winter my favorite item is the over the knee boots, so obsessed with them.

My favourite winter item is definitely scarves. I think I’ve worn one every day for the last month! I’m also a pretty big fan of my winter boots because they’re amazingly warm and waterproof but it hasn’t snowed here yet so I haven’t had to break them out
