Still alive. Still trekkin’ over here. But we’ve gotta get our butts on the road since there’s 8 hours of driving in the books today!
I’ll wait until I have a longer stretch of time to upload all my pictures and write about our road trip and pitstops!
Instead, I’m sticking to the mid-week confessions where you’ll get a taste of our trip thus far.
[These are my confessions…]
1) Ankur and I drove an extra 4 hours (out of our way) yesterday to go back to the Grand Canyon. We didn’t get our fill on Monday evening so we made an irresponsible decision and backtracked so we could spend a few more hours there. #WorthIt
2) This picture is an attempt to snap a pic of the lightning that accompanied us on our hike. Apparently I think my clicking skills are faster than the speed of light. Mother Nature – 1. Divya and her iPhone camera – 0.
3) I told myself I’d snack on carrots and healthy items for the entire road trip. Instead, we stopped for Coldstone while we got gas in New Mexico and I got ice cream. With peanut butter. Which is made from peanuts. Which is pretty much a healthy item. Right?
4) When we checked into our hotel last night, we asked the lady at the front desk if she knew of any places that were still open for dinner. She responded with, “You guys should check out Frontier. It’s got great burgers and the best part is that it’s mid-town so it’s really hip and happening.” I nodded and pretended that it sounded real cool. Instead, we picked up burritos and brought them back to the hotel room. ‘Hip and happening’ is not something that’s in my vocabulary this week.
5) Raisin Bran is one of my top 3 favorite cereals. Only after I spend 20 minutes picking out all the raisins.
6) It has been rainy and overcast for the past two days. There was absolutely no need for the sunglasses I’m wearing in this picture. I wore them only for the picture because nobody needs to see these tired eyes.
Questions of the Day:
- What’s your favorite cereal?
- What’s your favorite Coldstone concoction?
- ‘FESS UP. Tell me a secret
