[These are my confessions…]
This week, my confessions have to do with my Favorite Friend.
Because it’s her birthday and because the world should get a sneak peek into our 12-year friendship.
1) When we first met each other, we despised each other. I thought she was a “bitch” and, when I saw her sitting in the entrance of Rieber Hall, I secretly hoped she wouldn’t end up on my floor. Lo and behold, she ended up on my floor, at the end of the hall. She secretly thought I was the weirdest human because every time she passed by my room, I was staring at my wall.
2) Our drink of choice back then was a rum and coke. (No, not the Captain Morgan kind. The Malibu Coconut kind).
3) We went to see Gavin Degraw perform and spent HOURS sitting outside the venue to make sure we got the best spot. (We also brought some of those mini bottles of vodka and went into a nearby smoothie store, ordered a smoothie, and sneakily used their bathroom to pour the vodka into our smoothies). #college
4) One time, Gina came over to my house over the summer and she wanted to lay out. I’m brown. As brown as they get. But, I had a farmer’s tan and wanted to get rid of the whiteness on my upper arms. So I took some of my dad’s long socks and covered up the rest of my arm so only the upper arms would get darker. (Gina has a picture of this somewhere. Also, I don’t think it worked. But it makes for a great story).
5) Gina and I participated in Dance Marathon all 4 years we were at UCLA. This required us to be on our feet for 26 hours straight. We did it. All 4 years. And, every year, toward the end of the 26 hours, our bathroom trips used to become more frequent. Not to pee. But to use those few minutes to sit on the toilet.
6) After this picture was taken, one of us slept on the floor of the bathroom in a sleeping bag. Can you guess who it was?
My favorite.
My best friend.
My family.
Love you always.
Happy birthday Gina!

I bet the sock situation was a sight to see. You need to find that picture to share with us.
