Good morning!
I love a three-day weekend, but they always throw me for a loop. I wake up every morning the rest of the week, confused about what day it is.
WE ARE IN JUNE NOW. I cannot believe it.
Time really flies when you’re a grown up.
I did a ton of work yesterday while Ankur slept in the morning. And then, when he was up, we ate lunch and watched the rest of the Ant-Man movie. We love us some Paul Rudd, but as far as Marvel movies go, it was just eh.
Then we picked Ishu up from school and walked over to the park. On the way over, we saw a lady pushing an ice cream cart and stopped to get Ishu a Spider-Man popsicle.
He was the happiest little kid. And walked up to the two other grown-ups at the park, waving his popsicle in the air at them. As if saying, “Look what I GOT!”
The park feels so fun these days. Everyone is out and about, socializing. Our kids are all running around barefoot, playing with each others sand toys and diggers. Parents are catching up with one another. THIS is what I’ve been craving all winter long. Community and connection.
Actually, it’s been more than just all winter long. It’s felt like I’ve been trying to find my footing for a really long time. I still am. It’s hard to make friends in a new city. Especially working from home. But, this week has felt really nice. And I’m just over here trying to soak up these really wonderful park days with our neighborhood friends.
Feeling very lucky this morning.
SO, on the agenda for today. I’ve got two big eval meetings, a trip to the dentist, and then our sweet Auntie Bella comes over this evening. Can’t believe she’s leaving this city in a month. So happy for the new adventure she’s about to embark on and also so sad we won’t see her anymore. (Or at least not as frequently).
