Last night, before Ankur went to bed, he went into the kitchen to grab the bottle of Zyrtec. He takes his allergy pill at night; I take mine during the day.
Before he popped one in his mouth, he asked, “Do you remember if I took one already? Did I take one when I came in here to pour water in my bottle?”
I laughed and responded, “No.”
“Are you sure?” he asked.
“Yes,” I said with 98% confidence. Smiling because this is an internal conversation I’ve had with myself far too many times.
I jokingly said, “We should get one of those pill boxes!”
He laughed it off, but I continued, saying we should probably add that to our Christmas wishlist.
He thinks it’s unnecessary because it’s for people who take a lot of pills who need to keep them organized.
And *I* think it’s for people who forget whether they took their dang pills. It’s a helpful little tool to make sure you don’t double up on your medication.
Anyway, I may get Ankur a pill box as a stocking stuffer. If he won’t use it, I will.
The pill box is not actually on my wishlist, but here are a few things that were on my list this year.
I already opened up my Secret Santa gift from the cousins. It was sent to our apartment in an Amazon box and I didn’t realize it was my gift! But my Secret Santa gifted me with one of those light therapy lamps. My friend recommended I get one of those since it’s gonna be gloomy in Chicago for the next couple of months.
And since I’m someone who NEEDS the sunshine, I figured this would be a good investment since we’re here for a few years!
The other thing on my list is this Kindle page turner.
HEAR ME OUT.
I am not lazy. It’s just that sometimes I want to read in bed. So I’ll prop the Kindle on the nightstand and then get cozy in the blanket, with both arms under my pillow. And then, EVERY TIME I have to turn the page, I have to remove an arm and expose it to the cold, cold world.
I honestly didn’t even know something like this existed, but the other night, I was in bed thinking about what a wonderful invention it would be. Which led me down Google and IT EXISTS.
So if I don’t get this for Christmas, you can betcha bottom dollar I’ll be purchasing it for myself.
And then the last thing(s) on my list is(are) all the books.
I’ve been adding books to my wishlist and I’ve created quite a lengthy list over the years!
There are TOO MANY BOOKS AND NOT ENOUGH TIME.
Everyone keeps asking what they can get Ishaan for Christmas and my first response is, “A BOOK IS GREAT!”
And that’s probably true for me too.
Actually, Ankur and I have briefly talked about what we want Christmas to look like in our three-person family unit. And we’re both perfectly content with telling Ishaan that Christmas is all about reading. We give him ONE gift (a book) and spend all day binge reading.
That sounds like the best way to celebrate Christmas to me.
That’s it. Those are the things. Books, book accessories, and pill boxes.
Now, please, share with me. What’s on your Christmas list? And what is the best book you read in 2021?

Pill boxes are so handy! And you can find smaller/cuter ones too.
I love the tradition that Iceland has. I forget their word for it, but it’s essentially “Book Flood” where you gift each other books on Christmas Eve and then just read.

Ok…this kindle page turner!?!? I NEED that! I’ve been reading in bed this week and I get so snuggly inside the blanket and it’s always such a bother to have to remove one arm and have it exposed to the cold just to click next. Good looking out!

A Kindle page turner! How genius is this. Do you know if it works with the Kindle App?

I looked at the reviews and nobody has said it does; I will try it once I get it and circle back!
