Good morning and happy FRIDAY!
Ankur doesn’t have any afternoon patients today, so we are going on a day date to watch Thor. We haven’t seen a movie in the theaters together since before the pandemic and I’m SO EXCITED.
Before that, I’m meeting up with some moms at the Wiggleworms concert and then maybe we’ll sneak in a quick hour at the museum before Ishu’s nap.
Busy day today, but I love it. I have come to love Fridays in the summer. Not because of the weekend (though that is a bonus). But I like the predictability of knowing exactly what our morning is going to look like. It’s how I feel about Tuesday mornings when we have Ishu’s pre-school prep class! Maybe I should start planning out our weeks more intentionally. It makes me happy when we wake up and know what the day is going to look like.
Anyway, I came on here to share the most IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT. Though I did make a post about it yesterday.
I am officially a library card owner.
I don’t think I’ve been a library card owner since before college and that makes me extremely sad that I missed out on a bunch of years of library time.
But I’ll make up for it now.
I took Ishu to the Harold Washington Library when we first moved here. It’s about a 2-mile trek from us. So it’s do-able, but not super convenient cause we haven’t been back.
But then, the other day, I was walking Ishu to class and I overheard a woman walking next to us talking about another library branch in that direction. When I got home, I Googled it and found that there is, in fact, a smaller branch (Water Works library) that is right next to the park that Ishu and I go to! It’s only a one-room library, but it’s an easy option for us and they still had a ton of books to choose from.
I also loved perusing their community table for ideas on what to read with your kiddos, books about Chicago, and other events. There were also pamphlets about mobile showers and free meals and it made me love the library all the more.
In any case, I’ve got a little one that is currently holding a Sharpie in one hand and looking at me with daring eyes. So I must sign off.
I’ll be back on Monday with pics from our weekend adventures! (Including a picture of my popcorn and soda from our movie this evening. I’m pretty sure I’m more excited about that than the movie itself, ha).
Have a good one!
