I’m currently sitting under the bedroom window,

I’m currently sitting under the bedroom window, watching the sky change colors.

It really is the most beautiful when you get to wake up and have a slow start to the day rather than rushed chaos as is the norm. Ha.

We did manage to get outside yesterday. Which is nice because it's going to be raining a bit this morning!

I remember this from last year. That we had stayed through all the fall colors in Chicago and then made our way out to California where the fall colors lasted a few extra weeks....

According to my Fitbit, I got over 8 hours of slee

According to my Fitbit, I got over 8 hours of sleep right now. And, according to my body, I FEEL IT. I have been falling asleep with Riyu each night and I think that's been the most helpful in getting the maximum hours of sleep. And then Dadi comes in here every morning and scoops Riyu up which helps me get the maximum hours of REST. Ha. I feel so very lucky. Yesterday, we went to Tracy to visit Naniji and Arun Mama for his birthday. And, on the car ride home, both kids were passed out in the back....

Good morning from the cozy, cozy bed!

Apparently Ishu is still sleeping and Dadi came in and scooped Riyu up and outta here to give me more time to sleep.

Feeling like the luckiest human right now.

Since I'm up (and alone!), I figured I'd upload some snapshots from the past couple days.

We are in northern California now and I officially got through my first flight alone with the two kiddos. Luckily, it was a short one. But short ones are good for practice. (Even though I'm not trying to do a flight from here to Chicago on my own any time soon, no thank you)....

Today, our sweetest Nani turns 92 year old. At 92

Today, our sweetest Nani turns 92 year old.

At 92 years old, she’s still calling all of us to remind us that it’s someone’s birthday or anniversary and “did we call them and did our kids call them and did we wish them?”

At 92 years old, she’s still sneaking mishri into the kiddos’ hands. Pulling them in, studying their faces for as many seconds as she can before they run off for another adventure.

At 92 years old, she’s still mothering. Still asking my mom if she’s gargling with salt water to take care of her throat. Still asking me if I’m going to put on a jacket before leaving the house.

At 92 years old, she’s still funneling food into the kiddos’ mouths. Sitting down to eat lunch but spooning out bites from her bowl for the hungry baby that wants more more more.

At 92 years old, she’s still excited about the small things. Like pizza for lunch with a side of orange soda.

At 92 years old, she’s still the rock. The glue. The sturdy foundation of our family.

Feeling so grateful to get to be with her today.

Happy birthday to our Nani. <3
