Hello from the sky (although this post will be published when I get to a place with wifi). I am currently on my way back to Orange County for winter break. I can’t wait to be reunited with my sister (even though it’s been less than a month). I absolutely adore the holiday season and, even though I had to leave Lord Kiwani up in NorCal, I am happy to be heading home to my family.
This week of work seemed ridiculously longer than usual since all of us (teachers included) were eagerly anticipating the start of winter break.
It was really nice to be able to break up the monotony of work with some festive holiday parties and good company.
Kirstin hosted a “grown-up dinner party” for some of us at her apartment in San Francisco. I say “grown-up” because there were no red solo cups involved at this holiday party.
Everything was so thoughtfully set out and prepared for us. It was certainly a nice shift from the Grinch Spritzer kind of festivities last week. Don’t get me wrong – that was one of my favorite nights at the apartment, but sometimes it’s so special to have a small, intimate gathering with some of your favorite people.
Kirstin and Brian, her husband, set up some delicious appetizers while the prime rib was being prepped in the oven.
Santa Con was going on at the same time in SF, and there was originally talk of going to go watch all the craziness in the city, but I think we were enjoying ourselves a little too much to leave.
And, although the work week seemed longer than usual, I loved spending every second of it with the little goobers because I know I will miss their faces these next two weeks.
Hope the rest of you have wonderful plans to spend with family and friends! 🙂
