Good morning! The baby woke up extra early so he’s down for a nap earlier than usual. I just finished eating breakfast with Ankur. I’ve been on a breakfast sandwich kick lately. I use the Dave’s bread mini slices, tofurkey, a slice of pepper jack, avocado, and two eggs. And that’s been keeping me full for hours and hours.
This is what Ankur’s breakfast looked like today.
Yes, that’s correct. French toast sticks. We had them left over in our freezer from our weekend with Gina and Richard and Ankur was more than happy to finish them off. He’s seriously the biggest kid I know.
And Ishu woke up demanding a banana (and ate a whole one) and then snacked on some strawberries and Cheerios while we went birdwatching this morning.
He is absolutely obsessed with birds and, if you even mention going for a walk, he starts saying “baahar baaahar” (which means ‘outside’ in Hindi). He’s like our little puppy.
This morning, Ankur was able to join us for a walk since he is going into work a little later. Well, it wasn’t really a walk. It was more of a “hang-out on the street corner” so we have the best vantage point to see all the birds flying around.
I’m trying to soak up these days in April when Ankur has a lighter schedule and can go in to work later. Breakfast together! Every day! It’s our favorite way to start each day.
Question of the Day:
Are you a breakfast person? What is your typical breakfast these days?

What an amusing post! Nutritionists say breakfast is important but I’ve never gotten into the habit; lunch is usually my first meal of the day. Those French Toast sticks look pretty good!

Sounds like you’re a natural intermittent faster! I don’t think I could do it!

Thanks for the helpful post, Divya! Frankly, breakfast is a big problem for me. Often there is simply not enough time to prepare it. And my first meal is lunch. Thanks to you, I got one more idea for a quick breakfast! Pinned!
