The weeks are flying by over here. I don’t know how we are at Friday already, but here we are.
We just dropped Ishu off. Drop-offs have been so much better these days and I’m not quite sure what shifted, but I’m going to be appreciating the heck out of it while it’s easy.
The other day, I was chatting with a parent and I wasn’t saying bye to him right away because it’s typically been such an ordeal. Me prompting him every step of the way. But he interrupted us a couple times until finally he said, “MAMA, I WANT TO GO IN NOWWWW. I LOVE SCHOOL.”
Okay, excuuuuuse me. Where did the kid go from two weeks ago that wanted a half day every day?
I don’t know. But it is so much happier to leave him when he’s in that state. He’s just pumped about school and I’m lovin’ it.
On Wednesday, some of the families in our neighborhood went to dinner and bowling at Pinstripes. It was a chaotic but super fun social event and I hope we can keep doing things like that throughout the winter when it’s harder to do outdoor stuff.
Yesterday, Riyu and I went to his sensory art class and made some spaghetti and meatballs. I love this class because it’s totally ‘all of the mess and none of the stress’ in the form of a 45-minute sensory experience. Ha.
With Ishu, I didn’t mind him making all the messes. For some reason, I cannot HANDLE IT with this baby. Probably just cause there’s two humans now who are constantly leaving trails of books and Tonies and Legos and random trinkets around the apartment. So, yes. It’s nice to go to a class. Let him play around with shaving cream and paint and all the things. And then walk out without having to clean anything up. Boom boom.
On the docket for this weekend – tennis, playdates, fall festivals, and a friend invited us over to their building for some Bounce House fun.
I’m already tired thinking of it. Ha. But I also love how full our days are because it reminds me just how much I craved this community.
OH LIFE.
Have a good weekend, everyone!
