Friday again!

WAHOO!

I’m sitting here now with a cup of coffee from our new Nespresso machine. Bloomingdales was having a 50% off sale on the Nespresso Vertuo and I JUMPED on it.

I’ve been livin’ off cold brew since we retired the Keurig a couple years ago. And it’s been FINE, but sometimes you just want a hot cup of coffee.

And today’s the perfect day for it. It’s a fall fall fall day outside. Very gloomy and windy.

I can’t complain though. Yesterday was *perfect.*

I went to a book club meeting at Good Times Brewery. A few weeks ago, I started following @beachreadsandbubbly on Instagram. And, if you’re into books and want to find a book club, her account is the perfect place to start. She has book clubs in every city possible. You download the Geneva app and find your city and wham bam.

The book we read was The Wedding People (a 5-star for me!). And it was so fun to talk about all things book and romantasy and fantasy and THESE ARE MY PEOPLE. I thought I was a book nerd but I am a drop in the bucket in comparison to these fun, bookish people. I’m excited to be a part of the crew now.

Other fun things this week was that Mario (Spitty) was in town with his partner, Jess. And I got to meet up with them for breakfast on Monday. It’s been over 10 years since I’ve seen him and it was so nice to catch up like no time has passed.

And another visitor! Kit is visiting us from New York this week! I student taught under her at Kentwood Elementary wayyyyyy back when. We reconnected a few years ago and have stayed in touch and I feel so lucky she is here and we get to spend some time with her.

She came over for dinner on Wednesday night and played some games with Ishu and went through his brushing routine with him. And, I’m reminded of why she was such an incredible teacher and mentor. The female Mr. Rogers. The fact that she can somehow slow *my* kid down is a testament to how calm and still she is with kiddos.

Grateful grateful grateful.

Now I’m just sippin’ on this coffee and waiting ’til the baby is up at which point we can head to the museum for some Emmie and Riyu time. Emmie’s recently been saying “Riyu” and it’s my favorite thing watching the two of them together. Can’t wait ’til this little guy is up and walking so he can keep up with her!
