Yesterday was BEAUTIFUL outside. We took advantage of the great weather and went to the park after pick-up.
And even when the sun dipped below the buildings, it was warm enough to stay outside.
My friend – who used to live in Chicago – responded to one of my Insta stories back in April when we had a day of snow and said, “But then we black out these snowy days during the summer!”
Which is exactly true.
Because all day yesterday, I was walking around thinking, “Why doesn’t everyone want to live here?! IT’S FREAKING BEAUTIFUL.”
It’s almost like I JUST FORGOT that we had 7 months of winter.
My Facebook events page is outta control with all the upcoming “Music in the Parks” and “Movies in the Park” and art festivals and food festivals. I’m giddy just thinking about all the fun things to come.
And it seems like most fountains have been turned on for the summer. Which is just the most exciting thing because you KNOW you’ve made it through the cold.
This isn’t our permanent home. We definitely want to move to be closer to family. But, man oh man, I feel pretty darn lucky that this has been our home – and continues to be our home – for right now. I wasn’t entirely sure how we’d hack it in a city with a toddler, but we’ve got a city boy on our hands and I love it.
This morning, I’m volunteering for a bit at the Scholastic book fair at Ishu’s school. And then I’ve got some testing to do and reports to write. But you can bet that pick-up will be early again today to make the most of this perfect springtime weather!
Hope you are feeling all the spring feelings! Have a good one 🙂
