Good morning!
Last night was a big night in the Budhraja household. I rarely get to pick where we go out to dinner. My dad is also really particular about what he eats for dinner. My sister and I always look up new restaurants (not Thai) in hopes that my dad will want to venture out and try something new. But my dad knows what he likes (Thai) and no matter how much we try, we usually end up at a Thai restaurant. And when it’s not Thai, he’s not completely satisfied at the end of the meal.
I suggested that we go to Summer House on PCH. He. Loved. It.
I don’t think he said a single word in between bites of his burger.
That’s a pretty special gift – as crazy as it sounds.
And my cutie-patootie mom packed up all the fries to feed her birds this morning. As we speak, she is outside putting them in the bird-feeder.
We were planning on watching a movie when we got home, but we were all pretty exhausted and decided to call it a night.
I spent the rest of the night reading e-mails, facebook messages, and responding to texts. Thank you so much to everyone for making me feel so, so special. And thank you to those of you who continue to supply my coffee addiction.
Thank you Julie for your thoughtful gift! Julie knows, firsthand, how much I obsessively need love and adore Starbucks. Julie is our school secretary, but she really is so.much.more.than.that. She kept me sane during my first year of teaching. She was the go-to person when anyone needed anything. She kept our school running smoothly – all with a huge smile and a positive attitude. I think she was one of the hardest things to walk away from as I left CMS this year. I love you, Julie Banks! 🙂
This morning, I am heading up to LA to meet my future roommate! My current roommate decided to move in with her boyfriend and, while I was exploring other options, I noticed that one of my friends from UCLA posted something on Facebook about his friend needing a roommate in the Bay Area. Well, I commented. She liked. Friends endorsed us. So there you go! It’s happening. I’m super excited!
I’m also going to be meeting my baby sister for lunch in Glendale. She currently works at Nickelodeon but is leaving for Boston soon since she will be starting business school this fall. So I have to soak up as much twinny time as I can while I’m down here!
Have a WONDERFUL day! =)
