Good morning, good morning.
Just got back from drop-off. The remnants from breakfast are all over the kitchen table and counter. There are completed puzzles and incomplete puzzles all over the living room floor. The white noise machine from our bedroom is still going off.
It’s a real mess over here.
But that’s OK.
My kid got to school. He went in and gave me three kisses. As he does. One for each cheek and one on the lips. Sometimes I can be real sneaky and get another one outta him.
And I’ve got the other kid who is currently continuing his nap in the stroller.
AND I’ve got a cup of coffee next to me which is making me feel alive, alert, awake, enthusiastic.
Last night, we asked Ishu what he wanted for his dessert compartment on his plate. He liked the chocolate chip cookies we baked a few days ago. So Ankur asked if he wanted one of those. And as he lifted up the cookie to put it on the plate, he says, “Nooooo. Not THOSE ones. The mini ones.”
He was talking about chocolate chips.
Just plain ol’ chocolate chips.
But he calls them chocolate chip cookies.
He’s also currently in this phase where he’s going around saying,
“Mama, I don’t like you.”
And he waits until you ask him why.
And then he says, “I don’t like you….
….BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!”
Sweetest little monkey.
OK, the stroller is making some noise so I better go get the other little monkey.
I’ll be back tomorrow for the baby’s 3-MONTH UPDATE! I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!
