Good morning! I’m typing this up as Ishu is playing with his Dadi. He’s currently fascinated with her pink fingernails and is having too much fun to notice that is mama isn’t sitting next to him.
And I’m loving it.
I’m sitting here at the kitchen table watching them love each other, sipping on some coffee.
Ankur just left for work. He works today and tomorrow and THEN he’s officially done with Internal Medicine for the rest. of. his. life.
Next month, he does a Neurology rotation and then he’ll be done with his internship year!
Ankur’s mama and papa got into town last night. They came for a wedding this weekend, but came a little early so they could be here for Ankur’s birthday.
And Ankur’s senior was real nice and offered to finish his notes so he could come home a little earlier for his birthday.
It was the most low key birthday ever.
Homemade pizza made by mama. With a side salad.
And a Coldstone ice cream cake that we cut into after Ishu fell asleep.
Ankur said he’ll celebrate a little harder on Saturday when he’s officially done with internal medicine. I think he’s more excited for THAT than his birthday. Ha.
(And mad respect to all the people who choose to go into Internal Medicine and do multiple years of residency in this. Hard. Intense. Work.)
NOW, we’re going to get changed and go out for a walk before it gets too hot. I’ll be back Tuesday!
Enjoy the long weekend!
