Yesterday was such a beautiful day out. Don’t get me wrong; it was still cold and a bit windy. But when the sun hit you just right, well, it felt pretty great.
So, after picking up Ishu, I thought we’d take the longer route home and walk by the river a bit.
Only we got pulled away to see a pop-up dinner experience on Michigan Ave. And then that led us across the street to the Ghiradelli store. Where we ordered a hot cocoa to share and Ishu walked away with a mini square “on the house.”
After our sweet treat, we ventured outside to watch a performer play his saxophone. Ishu darted right toward him, doing a mixture of dancing and running.
As soon as the performer saw Ishu approach, he segued from Sam Smith to Baby Shark. Ishu looked up at me with wide eyes.
“BABY SHARK!” he screamed, looking back at the man, not wanting to miss a second of his performance.
This wonderful man then segued into the Itsy Bitsy spider and ABCs. Ishu then ran toward his tip bucket, squatting over the thing. He began banging on the bucket in tune to the sax player’s song.
When the man took a short break from playing to talk to some people, Ishu ran over to the Wrigley Building. He shouted back at me, “Come on Mama!!! LET’S GO TO THE SAXAPHONE STORE!!”
A few minutes later, Ankur surprised us. He had finished early and wanted to meet up with us on our almost-springtime-adventure.
The three of us then moseyed on home. Via the river.
We stopped to pick up sticks, blow bubbles, and pet all the dogs.
It was a nice little preview of what this summer is going to feel like. I cannot WAIT.
Hope you all are having a happy week.
