While Ishu’s Dadi and Babaji were here, they got him a Cubs hat. And putting it on his head has very quickly become one of his favorite activities.
That and putting on his sunglasses.
The minute the cap lands on his head perfectly or when the sunglasses plop on his face just right, his left arm goes wild and he looks very pleased with himself.
He walks around the living room with the biggest grin making all sorts of sounds. SO, so proud that he could independently put on his accessories without mama or papa’s help.
Lately, each time he attempts to put one of them on and doesn’t do it right away, he says “Mo” and then tries again.
I wasn’t sure what he was trying to say (if anything at all) and then quickly realized he had picked up on me saying “almost” with each attempt.
“Almost,” I’d say. “You almost got it!”
So he, in turn, reassures himself.
“Mo!” each time he doesn’t get it right.
“Mo.” “Mo.” “Mo.” And then he gets it. And the ARM GOES WILD!
Anyway, I wanted to preserve that memory here. Because it makes me smile to think about this little persistent baby who doesn’t give up.
We could all learn a little something from this “mo'” chanting baby.
Almost. We’ve almost got it. Let’s try again.
