Oof.
Good morning.
We are a tired household over here. Ishu woke up around 10pm with a fever and continues to be coughing.
We did a round of Tylenol and sat in the bathroom with the shower running, hoping the steam would help some.
You could see the medication kicking in as he slowly inched away from my body, closer and closer to the Play-Doh.
Ha.
We read books, played Play-Doh, and did some Legos before he decided to fall back asleep at 1am.
Yes.
We are tired.
Fortunately, he woke up with no fever. But I’m keeping him home today. And, again, feel oh-so-grateful for a job that allows for that.
I kept him out of school yesterday too. He woke up with a tiny bit of congestion yesterday morning. And, even though it had cleared up a little bit after he woke up, I figured it’d be better to keep him with me.
Since he appeared to be feeling better, we ended up spending the morning at the playground. Which was nice because it was the last good-weather day before it rains (today) and temps start dropping.
It was also fun to get to see Jenn and Max again after so long. We miss our buddies so much.
Anyway, not much to report over here. Other than a sick toddler and a rainy day. Oh, yes. And our happy Diwali celebration yesterday consisting of pulling out Lakshmi from our goddess cards and putting some tea lights around her. And ordering Indian food on DoorDash. Ha.
I was laughing with a friend because I felt so proud that I had spent last Thursday mapping out this week. A skeleton of my days + meal planned dinners for these five weekdays. And, of course, all those plans were thrown out the window.
ALL FOR NAUGHT.
Oh well.
THAT’S REAL LIFE, I suppose.
Now I’m gonna go cuddle my little guy on the couch and watch the CURIOUS GEORGE HALLOWEEN MOVIE.
Have a good one!
