Good morning from a mom who regrets handing over bamboo sticks to her 3-year old last night because said 3-year old spent 10 minutes banging all the surfaces in the apartment like he is in some sort of rock band.
Thankfully, he is now sitting here next to me playing with stickers. Probs for a grand total of 4 minutes. For those of you curious if I sent him to school yesterday (based on yesterday’s post), absolutely yes.
He was awake for less than half an hour and I looked at Ankur and said, “I would walk through thunderstorms to send him to school today.”
Ha.
My child needs all the attention. All the conversation. And if for some reason you look away for 3 minutes, he’s pushing all the buttons on the printer or drawing on the walls.
Typical three year old.
But yes.
SEND HIM TO SCHOOL PLEASE.
When I got him to school yesterday, we were about to go up in the elevator with another mom/kid duo that got there the same time we did.
But he was very upset that the other mom pushed the elevator button.
She smiled at me like she understood (because, duh, every parent does) and then gently told Ishu there was another button inside that he could push.
And he melted down to the ground and said, “NOOOO, I want to push the outside button.”
So I pushed the stroller back out of the elevator, let them go without us, and then waited ’til the doors closed and told him he could push the outside button.
Sometimes it ain’t worth the fight.
And then last night, Ishu needed to poop.
The light was off in the the guest bathroom, where he normally poops. He ran past the guest bathroom toward the master bathroom, where the light was on.
But he wanted to be the one to turn on the light.
So he turned the light off in the master bathroom. Just to turn it back on again. (REMEMBER that the light was OFF in the guest bathroom he usually goes in. So why he didn’t go in there is beyond me).
I cannot understand. I don’t think I’ll ever understand his little brain.
Ha.
OKAY. That was clearly enough time sitting at my computer.
Somebody needs attention STAT. And somebody else needs coffee stat. G’day.
