Thank you for visiting Eat Teach Blog!
Eat Teach Blog was inspired by my first big move. After eight years of life in Los Angeles, I packed up my apartment in Culver City, determined to move into the real world. Eight years of memories. Eight years of keepsakes. Eight years of birthday cards, scrapbooks, and little knickknacks I had collected along the way. Most of these trinkets were obvious reminders of fond memories shared with friends. Still, there were other objects tucked away that clearly held some sentimental value for me, but I couldn’t place my finger on why.
2012 was also a big transitional year for me. I was stepping out of my comfort zone. Though I was only moving upstate, it was the biggest move I had ever made. With my newly-acquired teaching credential and Masters in hand, I moved to the Bay Area.
Eat Teach Blog became my active scrapbook. Not only did it serve as a way to preserve all my memories, but it became a place where I documented this shift to adulthood. Blogging has allowed me to become more reflective of each day, find the good and the bad in each day, and develop as a writer and a person.
ABOUT THE BLOGGER:
My name is Divya Budhraja Mathur. I am a full-time special education teacher, a part-time lifestyle blogger, and a self-proclaimed fro-yo connoisseur living in Harrogate, Tennessee. I was born and raised in Orange County, California. I moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA for college. (GO BRUINS!) And I stuck around LA to complete my Masters/Credentialing program at Loyola Marymount University.
In 2012 (when Eat Teach Blog was born), I moved to Northern California to kick off my teaching career. I met my husband in 2015. We were married in May of 2016. And, two months later, we moved across country to rural Tennessee so my husband, Ankur, could start medical school.
Through all this change and transition, Eat Teach Blog has remained a constant companion. Thank you for taking the time to stop by!
