We’re back in action.
We left Wisconsin Dells around 10:30am and, despite what this post said, we did, in fact, make one final trip to Bella Goose. I may or may not have gotten some pastries to go.
It ended up raining the entire drive home. I’m pretty sure we were right under the rain cloud as it was moving because every time I looked in my rearview mirror, it looked pretty clear behind me.
Fortunately, the heavy rain was some nice white noise for Ishu so he took a decent nap in the car. He woke up a few times and pointed to the raindrops on the back windshield saying, “Baarish” (rain), but then fell back asleep.
When we crossed into Illinois, we took a mini detour to Libertyville and went to this place for sandwiches. Which was a smart idea because when we sat down and looked out the window, it was INSANITY.
We waited until there was a break in the heavy, heavy rain and then made the hour drive home.
And now it’s back to reality.
A short little work week. But the good news is we are all settled with a “mother’s helper” or part-time nanny for Ishu. I don’t want to jinx it so I’ll leave it at that for now.
BUT, I was laughing to myself because, ever since I woke up, I’ve been hustling around the apartment, cleaning things up so they’re in order for her when she gets here. Like, all the time and effort I’m going to save having her here, I am expending right now trying to make this place look a tiny bit presentable.
But I know, logically, she’s going to see the reality of this place soon enough. Just figured the first day I can have all things in their proper places.
I’m excited. She seems wonderful. And, yes, I’ll leave it at that for now.
Hope you all have a happy, happy hump day!
