I first signed up for OrangeTheory back in March. At the time, they were running some sort of challenge, but I can’t remember what it was.
After all, I signed up for OTF. That, in itself, was challenge enough.
I told the staff member at the front desk that I wasn’t interested. That I just wanted to get my feet wet. Start showing up for my body, my health, my mind. And THEN, maybe when I could do that consistently, I’d be down for a challenge.
Well, my friends.
Here we are.
I did the 12 days of Fitmas.
It wasn’t a super intense challenge. We just had to show up for 6 out of the first 12 days in December. Which seemed super do-able.
Well, Wednesday, Ishu got sick. And Thursday to Sunday, we were busy with family in California.
And yesterday was the final day to do it.
BUT I DID IT.
I feel real proud of this person that I am evolving into.
I mean, yeah, I was a little bit doing it for the socks and shoelaces. #OTFSwag 🙂
But ALSO, it feels really nice to have this studio to keep showing up to. Even when I leave for a week when my kid gets sick. Even when I am out of town for a long stretch of time. It feels nice to be the person that shows up again. That doesn’t let that lapse dictate her future behavior.
Because I LIKE IT. I love seeing the people. I love the way I feel during and after a workout. It’s simply the best.
So, ‘scuse me while I go sport my fancy new shoelaces and socks. I EARNED ‘EM, DARNIT.

That is so awesome!!! And I love cool swag—would totally do it for the laces, too 😊 great job and iwant to do this—show up for myself, just because—in the new year. That and establish boundaries. Healthy, no?
